Effective May 2, 2006, the new rules under the USA PATRIOT Act require insurance companies to develop and implement Anti-Money Laundering (AML) programs that are reasonably designed to prevent the companies from being used to facilitate money laundering or financing terrorist activities.
How does this apply to you? Under the new rules, insurance companies are required to assure that all relevant producers and home office personnel receive adequate training on the basics of AML. Many insurance companies have partnered with LIMRA International and will offer AML training through LIMRA's AML training module. This will be offered free of charge to all independent producers who are   currently    contracted and who have submitted business to the companies since 2004. The LIMRA module is an online training tool that takes approximately 45 minutes to an hour to complete, and the module contains a feature that will automatically track and report to us your completion of the training.
